Purpose Of : Place of worship

The concept of symbolism must be compatible with the region rather than a high-rise, gothic style. For this purpose, we used the 8-pointed star which is an important symbol of Seljuk architecture.

One of the main figures of Seljuk culture and art, the 8-pointed star is also used in ancient civilizations and the Islamic world in the Middle East. The octagon (octagonal), a form between the square and the circle, symbolizes the transition phase of the connection between the earth and the sky. The sun’s rays come to the world in about 8 minutes, and in this respect the number 8 is considered the number of cosmic equilibrium.

The 8-pointed star, one of the main figures of the Seljuk culture and art, has been widely used in ancient civilizations in the Middle East and in the Islamic world. In addition, it is stated that in religious sources, Islam is based on 8 principles, which are called 8 heavenly gates against 7 hell, and 8 square stars symbolize 8 heaven. Eight paradise is called:

  1. Dâri-celal
  2. Dâri-karar
  3. Dâri-selam
  4. Cennetül huld
  5. Cennetül mevâ
  6. Cennetül adn
  7. Cennetül firdevs
  8. Cennetü naim.

It is one of the main artistic figures of the Seljuks and is used as a symbol to describe the 8 principles in the Islamic world, as well as 8 symbols. Principles;

  1. Merhamet ve şefkat,
  2. Sabretmek,
  3. doğruluk,
  4. sır tutmak,
  5. Sadakat,
  6. fakirliğini ve acizliğini bilmek,
  7. cömertlik,
  8. Rabbine şükretmek olarak sıralanmaktadır.

In the building which has a lean structure, a single symbol with a large and meaningful load is selected and the details of the project have been selected in every stage of the art of decoration.

In the facade claddings of the building, the white and shades of simplicity and cleanliness have been used, and in the ornamental art, the 8-pointed Seljuk star and the Ottoman were used with the spiritual meaning of the 10-pointed star in Islamic architecture. In order to describe the 99 names of Allah (c.c.), on the four sides of the building, 99 Seljuk stars were used.

On the façade of the building in the direction of Qibla, our supreme creator and guide Allah (c.c.) and Hz. We wanted to emphasize that by placing the names of Muhammad (s.a.v.) on the facade of the building, we always have the feeling that it is on us, and that we are constantly guiding light in the amulet formed by the infiltration of the lights coming from outside.

When the building design is considered, it is seen that there are 3 entrances.

In the project where the monastery and ablutions and other related units were solved in the basement, access to the main prayer hall was provided by passing by the sea in the last congregation section of the entrance to the mosque by the sea.

The floors planned for the project, especially for elderly people and disabled persons, were lifted separately for men and women. In the design where male and female entrance is made separately and invisible, it is planned to use the intermediate floors alternately by gentlemen or women.

In the project, where a very simple structure was created in the whole building, it was proposed to use a steel structure conveyor and it was shown that it was intended to be a carrier with its skeletal system and its distributed perspective.

There are many positive and negative aspects of the domed mosque architecture. Positive aspects; In muezzinlik and imam, it increases the color and harmony of sounds and adds a beauty to the sound. In these regions, the rosaries and suras, which are read in the musical style with notes, cause the sound to be pleasant. Negative aspects; in the lectern and pulpit, this event is completely in an upside situation. In these regions the speeches are in the form of addressing and preaching.

The most important factor affecting the acoustics of the mosque is the objects that lay the surface of the mosque. The sound waves determine the acoustic duration of this mosque when it travels by slamming against walls and dome and when these waves go down to ambient noise.

To ensure sound clarity in mosque acoustics, the ringing time should be below 2 seconds. In the mosques that have passed this period, the speech clarity deteriorates. The calculation of the inner surface areas of the mosque and the sound absorption rates of the selected products were calculated and kept below this value.

Seljuk stars in the front of the building lighting, the dome and the Qibla wall on the walls of Allah (c.c) and H. Z. Muhammed (s.a.v.) inscriptions were illuminated through the interior lighting.

Instead of creating a very different and contradictory form from the view of the surrounding buildings at the entrance courtyard of the building, a project design was adopted which accepts itself in the area where it is located. Especially in the project area where sea transportation and island traffic is provided, a mass design is created in the form which will attract the attention of the visitors to the island but not to stand in contradiction with the form and to the island view.

Another aim of the building is to present the symbolic representation of the modern understanding that will make the history of the island and feel its history.
